Sell your Saline County mineral rights.

Harrisburg, Eldorado, Carrier Mills: we buy minerals and royalties throughout Saline County, a coal county with the south edge of Dale Consolidated and the Eldorado and Harco fields underneath.

Saline County is a coal county that happens to have a little oil, and this page is not going to oversell the oil. The county produced 21,933 barrels in 2025, about a third of one percent of the state, and the ISGS database shows more plugged oil wells here than unplugged ones. What Saline County has in volume is permits for gas out of old mines, and what a mineral owner here needs most is someone to read the deed and say which of three estates the family actually kept.

What produces here. The Illinois Petroleum Resources Board puts Saline County at 21,933 barrels for calendar 2025, down slightly from 22,272 in 2024. The oil comes from the south edge of Dale Consolidated, shared with Franklin and Hamilton counties, and from Eldorado Consolidated, Harco, Raleigh, Long Branch, Francis Mills and the Omaha South and West fields on the Gallatin line, with pay in the Aux Vases, Ste. Genevieve, Cypress and McClosky; the ISGS database carries about 400 unplugged oil producer records here against 550 plugged. The oil operators in the county records include Campbell Energy of Carmi, Dee Drilling, Calvert Drilling and a number of individual owners, and Campbell is the only one permitting oil wells, two in 2025 and the Garner 2 to the St. Louis at 3,500 feet on September 24, 2026, in Township 7 South, Range 7 East. Everything else in the IDNR weekly permit logs is Keyrock Energy of Beckley, West Virginia: 17 coal mine methane permits in 2025 and 16 more in 2026 through late October, drilled a few hundred feet into the Herrin and Springfield coals in the old mine workings northwest of Harrisburg, gas from abandoned mines rather than oil wells.

Whatever you own here, producing royalties, non-producing acreage, or an inherited fraction split among family, we will identify it from whatever paperwork you have, value it off the actual wells and activity, and show you the reasoning with the offer. Free, no obligation, and no pressure: if keeping it is the right answer, we will say so. Inherited it? Start with inherited mineral rights in Illinois.

Questions

Straight answers for Saline County owners

What are mineral rights worth in Saline County?
It depends on the wells and units actually touching your tract, their decline, and your decimal, and in Saline County it depends just as much on what your deed severed, because coal, coal mine methane and oil are usually three different estates here, so county averages mislead. Illinois publishes no well-level production, so your statements are the record. We read the deed and the statements and show the work, free.
Keyrock is drilling gas wells into the old mine under my Saline County land. Am I owed a royalty?
Only if you own the gas, and that turns on the deed that sold the coal. Coal mine methane is gas released from the coal and the surrounding rock in abandoned workings, and in 2022 the Seventh Circuit, in a Franklin County case over the Orient mine, applied Illinois' rule of capture and held that a neighbor could not sue over methane drawn off with a vacuum pump. If your family kept the gas when the coal was sold, that is worth reading closely, and we will read it free.
Does Illinois take a severance tax out of my royalty?
No. Illinois has no severance or gross production tax on conventional oil and gas. The 3 percent Hydraulic Fracturing Tax reaches only wells permitted under the 2013 horizontal fracturing law, and nothing in Saline County is. Lease deductions and Illinois income tax are what come off your check.
What does it cost me to sell?
Nothing. Berlin pays all title work, document preparation, and recording costs. The offer you accept is the amount you receive.
