Where We Buy · Illinois · Gallatin County

Sell your Gallatin County mineral rights.

Shawneetown, Ridgway, Equality: we buy minerals and royalties throughout Gallatin County, the Omaha, Inman and Roland fields at the south end of the Illinois Basin.

Gallatin County is the bottom of the basin, river-bottom farmland between the Ohio and the Wabash with the Omaha, Inman and Roland fields underneath, and it is a Campbell Energy and CountryMark county: the two companies account for five of the six wells the ISGS database shows completed here in 2025. The royalties are the usual Illinois kind, small and old and split, but the operators are the ones who are still spending money.

What produces here. The Illinois Petroleum Resources Board puts Gallatin County at 111,459 barrels for calendar 2025, down from 125,169 in 2024. The oil comes from Roland Consolidated and Herald Consolidated on the White County line, Inman West and East Consolidated, Omaha, Omaha South and West, AB Lake, Junction, Elba and Lawler, with pay in the Cypress, Aux Vases, Ste. Genevieve, Tar Springs, Waltersburg, Pennsylvanian and McClosky; the ISGS database carries about 1,030 unplugged oil producer records here. The operators you will see on checks and in the county records include Campbell Energy of Carmi, CountryMark Energy Resources, Dee Drilling of Mount Carmel, CDG Operations, Stewart Producers and Pioneer Oil. The IDNR weekly permit logs show Campbell's Omaha 22-Twin to the Palestine in July 2025 and the Omaha 22-WI injection well that September, and in 2026 Dee Drilling's Lillis Moye 2-D to the St. Louis at 3,150 feet on July 13, Campbell's Omaha 23 to the St. Louis at 3,300 feet on September 24, 2026, and injection permits for CDG Operations on the Kerwin lease and Stewart Producers on the Richeson lease in the Cypress, the pattern of a county where the floods are being maintained and the Omaha field is still being drilled.

Whatever you own here, producing royalties, non-producing acreage, or an inherited fraction split among family, we will identify it from whatever paperwork you have, value it off the actual wells and activity, and show you the reasoning with the offer. Free, no obligation, and no pressure: if keeping it is the right answer, we will say so. Inherited it? Start with inherited mineral rights in Illinois.

Questions

Straight answers for Gallatin County owners

What are mineral rights worth in Gallatin County?
It depends on the wells and units actually touching your tract, their decline, and your decimal, and in Gallatin County that ranges from a Cypress waterflood royalty paid since the 1940s to a tract next to Campbell's 2026 Omaha wells, so county averages mislead. Illinois publishes no well-level production, so your check stubs and division orders are the record. We value off them and the activity around you and show the work, free.
Can the surface owner take my Gallatin County minerals if I do nothing?
Not automatically, but Illinois has a court process that ends the same way. Under the Severed Mineral Interest Act, 765 ILCS 515, a surface owner or would-be lessee can petition the circuit court against severed minerals whose owners are unknown or missing, with published and mailed notice; the court can appoint a trustee to lease the interest and can eventually vest it in the surface owner, seven years after the judgment, or one year where the severance was more than 20 years old at filing. An owner can intervene before final judgment. Keep a recorded instrument with a current address in Gallatin County and it cannot start against you.
My family's Gallatin County checks stopped years ago. Where did the money go?
Probably to the Illinois State Treasurer. Under the unclaimed property act, 765 ILCS 1026, mineral proceeds including royalties, bonuses and delay rentals are presumed abandoned after three years and turned over under the last name and address the operator had. The interest is still yours and the money is claimable. We search the Treasurer's records free as part of every valuation.
What does it cost me to sell?
Nothing. Berlin pays all title work, document preparation, and recording costs. The offer you accept is the amount you receive.
