Newton, Ste. Marie, Wheeler: we buy minerals and royalties throughout Jasper County, the Salem and St. Louis wells around Ste. Marie and the north edge of Clay City Consolidated.
Jasper County is the quiet north end of the Clay City trend, farm country around Newton where the oil shows up as a line item on a family's tax return rather than a pumpjack in the yard. The ISGS database shows about 945 unplugged oil producer records here and 1,700 plugged, which is the shape of a county that was drilled hard once and is now worked by a handful of small operators around Ste. Marie.
What produces here. The Illinois Petroleum Resources Board puts Jasper County at 160,548 barrels for calendar 2025, down from 171,624 in 2024. The oil comes from the north edge of Clay City Consolidated and Sailor Springs Consolidated, and from Ste. Marie, Hidalgo South and East, Hunt City East, Rose Hill, Yale, Willow Hill East, Bogota South and the Bellair and Olney Consolidated edges, with pay in the Salem, Ste. Genevieve, McClosky and St. Louis. Pure Oil and Union Oil of California are on the historical records; the operators you will see on checks and in the county records today include Parrish Oil Production, St. Pierre Oil, Geier Oil, Herman L. Loeb of Lawrenceville, Faithful Oil, Pinnacle Exploration, Scott Oil and Bateman's Bay Exploration. Drilling is light but steady around Ste. Marie: the IDNR weekly permit logs show three oil well permits in 2025, Scott Oil's Frohning 7 in August and Pinnacle's Roberts Consolidated B-4 and Bateman's Bay's Kistner 2 to the Salem in October and November, and at least three in 2026, Loeb's Keller 2-6 and 3-6 to the St. Louis at 3,400 feet in June and Faithful Oil's Kistner 7 to the Salem on August 13, 2026, with Faithful's Kistner injection permit following on October 6, all in Townships 5 and 6 North, Range 10 East.
Whatever you own here, producing royalties, non-producing acreage, or an inherited fraction split among family, we will identify it from whatever paperwork you have, value it off the actual wells and activity, and show you the reasoning with the offer. Free, no obligation, and no pressure: if keeping it is the right answer, we will say so. Inherited it? Start with inherited mineral rights in Illinois.
The north edge of Clay City Consolidated and Sailor Springs Consolidated, plus Ste. Marie, Hidalgo South and East, Hunt City East, Rose Hill, Yale, Willow Hill East, Bogota South and the Bellair and Main Consolidated edges on the Crawford line.
Jasper County wells bottom in the Salem, Ste. Genevieve, McClosky and St. Louis, and every oil permit in 2025 and 2026 was a Salem or St. Louis well at 3,250 to 3,600 feet in the Ste. Marie area.
Wherever your tract sits in Jasper County, we will research it free and value it with the work shown.
