Why does a check stub work better than a form?

Because the stub is the one document that cannot be vague. It names the operator, which tells us the play and the wells. It shows your decimal interest, which tells us how big your share is. It lists the property or unit, which tells us where to pull the records. Most owners cannot answer those three questions from memory, and they do not have to. The operator already printed them.

What happens after I text it?

Stephen reads the stub, pulls the wells and the unit from public records and from our Enverus data, and runs the same valuation we use when we buy for our own account. Within two business days of having enough to work with you get a written preliminary number, the breakdown behind it, and a plain opinion on whether selling makes sense for you at all. What if I do not get checks?

Then text whatever you do have: a deed, a pooling order, a lease, an old division order, or a letter from someone trying to buy your minerals. Non-producing minerals are worth money too, and the valuation runs off the drilling around your tract instead of a check. Will I get a sales pitch?

You will get a number and the reasons for it. If our number is lower than one you already have, we tell you to take the other one. If your interest is one we think you should keep, we say that too; our page on when not to sell is the most read thing on this site. Nobody who texts us gets put on a mailing list or a call campaign.
