The operator list is not what most owners expect. Mack Energy drilled 55 of those wells, Continental Resources 39, Diversified Energy 26 and Validus Energy 16. Continental is the name everyone associates with the SCOOP, but on recent well count Mack has been the busier driller.
Grady is the county where the gap between what an owner knows and what is happening under them tends to be widest, because it has both a deep legacy population, roughly 2,698 producing wells, and the heaviest current development in the state. A statement showing modest income from older wells tells you almost nothing about what a new unit on the same section is worth.
