Sell your Daviess County mineral rights.

Washington, Odon, Plainville: we buy minerals and royalties throughout Daviess County, the Plainville, Washington, and Odon South fields on the eastern edge of the Illinois Basin.

Daviess County is farm country, a good share of it Amish, sitting on the eastern edge of the Illinois Basin where the oil gets shallow, small, and scarce. The fields around Plainville, Washington, and Odon have paid modest royalties since the 1950s, one operator still drills a few 1,000-foot Salem wells a year, and a lot of the severed minerals in the county have not seen a lease since the last oil boom, which in Indiana is a legal problem as much as an economic one.

What produces here. Shallow oil from Plainville, Washington, Odon South, and the Veale pool, in the Aux Vases, Ste. Genevieve, Salem, and Muscatatuck. Indiana publishes production only statewide, not by county: the Division of Oil and Gas reported 115,486 barrels and 239,449 Mcf for July 2026 and 1,315,471 barrels and 2,887,306 Mcf for all of 2025, and Daviess is a small piece of it. The operator in the county records is Indian Black Water, with 132 Indiana wells on the state's August 2026 list: the Riggle 6 and Riggle 7 completed as oil wells at 1,063 and 1,051 feet, the Riggle 4 converted to Aux Vases injection in the Veale pool in March 2025, the Knepp 1 permitted to the Salem at 1,000 feet in Odon South in October 2025, and the Collins 1A in the same pool in April 2026. Ally Exploration permitted the Knepp and Sons 1-28 as a wildcat in June 2026. That is the whole of recent activity, and a Daviess page that said more would be padding.

Whatever you own here, producing royalties, non-producing acreage, or an inherited fraction split among family, we will identify it from whatever paperwork you have, value it off the actual wells and activity, and show you the reasoning with the offer. Free, no obligation, and no pressure: if keeping it is the right answer, we will say so. Inherited it? Start with inherited mineral rights in Indiana.

What produces here

Plainville and Washington

Plainville produces from the Aux Vases, Ste. Genevieve, and Muscatatuck; the Washington field, discovered in 1950, from the Aux Vases, Salem, and deeper Silurian, with about 298,000 barrels through 1991.

Odon South and Veale, the Salem at 1,000 feet

Shallow Salem oil first found in 1959. Indian Black Water drilled the Riggle wells to about 1,050 feet in the Veale pool and permitted Knepp 1 and Collins 1A to the Salem at 1,000 feet in October 2025 and April 2026.

Questions

Straight answers for Daviess County owners

What are mineral rights worth in Daviess County?
It depends on the wells and units actually touching your tract, their decline, and your decimal, and in Daviess County that ranges from a 1,000-foot Salem stripper royalty to non-producing acreage on the basin's edge that may never see a rig, so county averages mislead. Indiana publishes production only statewide, so your check stubs and division orders are the record. We value off the actual wells and activity and show the work, free.
Can my Daviess County mineral rights expire?
Yes. The Dormant Mineral Interest Act, Indiana Code 32-23-10, extinguishes a severed mineral interest that goes 20 years without production, lease or royalty payments, taxes paid, or a recorded statement of claim, and it reverts to the surface owner with no advance notice; the U.S. Supreme Court upheld it in Texaco v. Short in 1982. On the quiet eastern edge of the basin, where many Daviess tracts have not been leased in decades, this is the first thing we check, and if the 20 years have not run a statement of claim with the Daviess County Recorder stops the clock.
I inherited Daviess County minerals. Do I have to open an estate?
Often not. Indiana Code 29-1-7-23 lets any person record an affidavit in the county naming the decedent, the date of death, the vesting deeds, and the distributees, and the recorded affidavit is prima facie evidence of the transfer; operators and title examiners in the basin rely on it more than on probates. If royalties were paid to a deceased owner and went unclaimed, they go to the Indiana Attorney General after three years, so search the unclaimed property fund under every spelling of the family name. On a committed purchase we handle and pay for whichever route the title needs.
What does it cost me to sell?
Nothing. Berlin pays all title work, document preparation, and recording costs. The offer you accept is the amount you receive.
