Brazil, Clay City, Bowling Green: we buy minerals and royalties throughout Clay County, the Clay City field where Adler Energy has been drilling Silurian wells since 2025.
Clay County grew up on coal, the mines that built Brazil, Harmony, and Knightsville in the 1860s, and the oil has always been an afterthought on the northeastern fringe of the basin. Lately it is a slightly bigger afterthought: one operator is drilling Silurian wells in the Clay City field at 2,600 feet, which is deep by Indiana standards, and it has been successful enough to permit disposal wells to handle the water. For a family holding a severed interest around Clay City, that is the first new reason in a long time to find out whether the interest still exists.
What produces here. Oil from the Clay City field in the Silurian and from Bowling Green in the Borden Group Carper sand, Devonian, and Muscatatuck, plus scattered shallow stripper wells. Indiana publishes production only statewide, not by county: the Division of Oil and Gas reported 115,486 barrels and 239,449 Mcf for July 2026 and 1,315,471 barrels and 2,887,306 Mcf for all of 2025, and Clay's share is small. The operator in the county records is Adler Energy, with 12 Indiana wells on the state's August 2026 operator list: the 7-30 Fritz permitted to the Silurian in May 2025, the 12-30 Fritz in July and August 2025, the 2-30 Fritz completed as an oil well at 2,645 feet, and three saltwater disposal permits in August 2025, the 8-30 SW Halfhill and 6-30 Foundation into the Salem and the 9-30 Halfhill into the Wabash. The state's April 2025 summary counted three Clay County oil completions. Sunrise Production permitted the SPD 12 Bowling Green West community unit well to the Devonian at 1,455 feet in April 2025.
Whatever you own here, producing royalties, non-producing acreage, or an inherited fraction split among family, we will identify it from whatever paperwork you have, value it off the actual wells and activity, and show you the reasoning with the offer. Free, no obligation, and no pressure: if keeping it is the right answer, we will say so. Inherited it? Start with inherited mineral rights in Indiana.
