Can the operator deduct processing costs from my Sweetwater royalty?

Not the costs of making the gas marketable. W.S. section 30-5-304 defines royalty free of the costs of production and expressly excludes from that definition only the direct costs of transporting oil from the storage tanks, transporting gas from the point of entry into the market pipeline, and processing gas in a plant. Gathering, dehydration, and compression are costs of production and are not deductible. That is a stronger position than owners have in most gas producing states.
