## Royalty decimal calculator.

Verify the decimal on a division order before you sign it, or run the decimal on a check stub backward to find out how many net mineral acres you actually own.

### Division order decimal check

Net acres ÷ unit acres × royalty rate. Use it to verify what the operator sent you.

Your net mineral acres in the unit

Unit size (acres)

Royalty rate

Enter your numbers to compute the decimal.

If the decimal on your division order doesn't match, don't sign it yet. [Here's why.](https://www.berlinroyalties.com/oil-scout/should-you-sign-your-division-order-in-oklahoma/)

### Decimal decoder: what do I own?

All you have is the decimal on a check stub or division order? Run it backward to your net mineral acres and net royalty acres.

Your revenue decimal

Unit size (acres)

Royalty rate on your lease

Allocation factor (multi-unit wells; leave 1 if unsure)

Enter your decimal, unit size, and royalty.

NMA = decimal × unit ÷ royalty ÷ allocation. NRA = decimal × unit ÷ 1/8 ÷ allocation. On a multi-unit horizontal well, your decimal is scaled by the share of the lateral in your section; that share is the allocation factor, printed on the division order.

## Why doesn't my royalty decimal match my acres?

The usual culprits, in order: a multi-unit horizontal well scaling your decimal by an allocation factor, a different royalty rate than you assumed (check the lease, not your memory), fewer net acres than the family believed after generations of splits, or a plain operator error. The math itself is one line: net acres divided by unit acres times royalty. If your numbers will not reconcile with the operator's, our [letter generator](https://www.berlinroyalties.com/letter-generator/) includes a decimal dispute letter, and the [net mineral acres calculator](https://www.berlinroyalties.com/net-mineral-acres-calculator/) helps you pin down the acreage side first.

### Decimal still doesn't make sense?
