One net royalty acre equals one net mineral acre leased at a 1/8 royalty, so NRA = NMA times your royalty divided by 1/8. A 3/16 lease turns 10 NMA into 15 NRA.

## What is a net mineral acre?

A net mineral acre is your fractional share of the minerals expressed as acreage: own a 1/4 interest under 160 gross acres and you own 40 net mineral acres. Buyers quote prices per NMA, or per net royalty acre once the lease royalty is factored in, because a 1/4 royalty lease pays twice what a 1/8 lease pays on the same dirt.
