Jasper County is the quiet north end of the Clay City trend, farm country around Newton where the oil shows up as a line item on a family's tax return rather than a pumpjack in the yard. The ISGS database shows about 945 unplugged oil producer records here and 1,700 plugged, which is the shape of a county that was drilled hard once and is now worked by a handful of small operators around Ste. Marie.

**What produces here.** The Illinois Petroleum Resources Board puts Jasper County at 160,548 barrels for calendar 2025, down from 171,624 in 2024. The oil comes from the north edge of Clay City Consolidated and Sailor Springs Consolidated, and from Ste. Marie, Hidalgo South and East, Hunt City East, Rose Hill, Yale, Willow Hill East, Bogota South and the Bellair and Olney Consolidated edges, with pay in the Salem, Ste. Genevieve, McClosky and St. Louis. Pure Oil and Union Oil of California are on the historical records; the operators you will see on checks and in the county records today include Parrish Oil Production, St. Pierre Oil, Geier Oil, Herman L. Loeb of Lawrenceville, Faithful Oil, Pinnacle Exploration, Scott Oil and Bateman's Bay Exploration. Drilling is light but steady around Ste. Marie: the IDNR weekly permit logs show three oil well permits in 2025, Scott Oil's Frohning 7 in August and Pinnacle's Roberts Consolidated B-4 and Bateman's Bay's Kistner 2 to the Salem in October and November, and at least three in 2026, Loeb's Keller 2-6 and 3-6 to the St. Louis at 3,400 feet in June and Faithful Oil's Kistner 7 to the Salem on August 13, 2026, with Faithful's Kistner injection permit following on October 6, all in Townships 5 and 6 North, Range 10 East.

Whatever you own here, producing royalties, non-producing acreage, or an inherited fraction split among family, we will identify it from whatever paperwork you have, value it off the actual wells and activity, and show you the reasoning with the offer. Free, no obligation, and no pressure: if keeping it is the right answer, we will say so. Inherited it? Questions

## Straight answers for Jasper County owners

What are mineral rights worth in Jasper County?
It depends on the wells and units actually touching your tract, their decline, and your decimal, and in Jasper County that ranges from a Pure Oil lease from the 1940s to a tract next to one of the 2026 Keller or Kistner wells near Ste. Marie, so county averages mislead. Illinois publishes no well-level production, so your check stubs and division orders are the record. We value off them and the activity around you and show the work, free.

How quickly does an Illinois operator have to pay me on a new well?
Under the Oil and Gas Rights Act, 765 ILCS 520/10, the first payment is due within 150 days after the end of the month of first purchase, then per the lease or within 60 days for oil and 90 days for gas. Late amounts earn interest at the New York Fed discount rate, and you must give the payor 30 days written notice before suing. Our letter generator writes that notice.

Do I have to probate my parent's Jasper County minerals?
Usually, if they were in your parent's name. Illinois treats severed minerals as real estate, and the small estate affidavit under 755 ILCS 5/25-1 reaches personal property only and cannot be used at all if the decedent owned any Illinois real estate. An out-of-state parent generally needs an ancillary probate in Jasper County. On a committed purchase we coordinate and pay for the probate or ancillary proceeding ourselves.

What does it cost me to sell?
Nothing. Berlin pays all title work, document preparation, and recording costs. The offer you accept is the amount you receive.
